MXI cherishes Family. That’s one reason it’s such a good fit for me. This picture is my family. It was taken in Yosemite, early last August. For the nature enthusiasts, that’s El Capitan and Half Dome in the background. We were enjoying a quick camping getaway before our eldest son went to New York to start his 3rd year at West Point and our daughter would be off to start college at the University of Arizona
Just a week later, our family picture looked a lot different. We were taking our daughter to college, driving from Sacramento, California to Tucson, Arizona and we blew a tire. My husband Ed was doing a great job handling the car and getting it to the shoulder of the freeway…in fact our daughter and our youngest son were sleeping through it….when all of a sudden something happened and the car turned perpendicular to traffic and then started rolling over across the freeway, over the median and finally after 5 flips, it landed halfway in the median and halfway in oncoming traffic.
Miraculously, it was a one car accident and no one was fatally injured. We left a mess that shut down I-10 for several hours, but all of the emergency and medical crews commented on how lucky we were to be alive and going to the hospital. That amazement continued into our recovery. My daughter and husband both sustained significant injuries to their neck and back respectively and required months of recovery. The doctors always asked about the pain….to which they replied “no pain.” The doctors would then pull me aside and say “Really, how are they doing with the pain?” In fact, neither had touched the narcotics that they’d received from the hospital. I was quite sure they weren’t in any pain.
It wasn’t until I went to a chiropractor because I couldn’t get back into my yoga routine that I realized the impact of “no pain.” I learned that I had locked 4 vertebrae in our accident – they were acting as one – no wonder I couldn’t do my asanas. The doctor asked me about the pain….to which I replied “no pain.” He knew about the anti-inflammatory benefit of Xoçai™ and said “Wow, that chocolate really must work. You must have no inflammation in your body.” That was when I really understood the value of eating well and good health. We were hurt from the accident, but were so flush with healthy chocolate that we didn’t feel any lasting pain!
It’s been 6 months since the accident, and I’m happy to report that our daughter started at U of A in January and is doing great. (We flew this time.) Ed has returned to work and is back to his normal exercise routine walking 5 miles a day. He even went skiing last weekend.
And through all of this, my Xoçai™ business has continued to grow, even flourish. My MXI family came together and helped me move to the Silver level, and now I’m working on Gold. The training and support I get from my Team Xociety™ and the Global Partner Group is phenomenal and I thank my dear friend Paula Booker every day for calling me a couple of years ago and asking, “Were you serious when you told me you needed to make more money? I’ve got something that you should look at. It may or may not be for you.” Well yes, it’s for me!
